InDepth designed a series of modular chillers for LydallAffinity. I was tasked with designing the faceplate such that it could be thermoformed, and easily cut to mix and match parts to make three or more sizes. I also designed the modular frame system that would simplify assembly and maintenance.

Contributions

Design:
Turned concept models from Rhino into manufacturable SolidWorks models
Designed water tank to be rotationally molded
Designed face for thermoform
Side panels made from sheet metal
Analysis, etc:
All molded parts designed for one-way draw
Completed manufacturing process comparison: RIM vs thermo vs roto
Planned part placement allowing for cable/hose routing, and protecting vital electronics from moisture
Found manufacturers for prototypes and final production
Sourced custom components, including casters
